Fox School Partner with R2T

Our thanks and encouragement to Fox School, in Notting Hill Gate London, and Headteacher Paul Cotter who are backing R2T this academic year. After an assembly launch this Monday Fox are holding an International Food Evening on Friday 23rd September with proceeds going to our charity.

Thanks to Ophelia Lee and her Young Fundraisers in New York

Ophelia Lee, along with her school friends, held a birthday party with a difference to support R2T.  Following a visit, with her parents, to see our operations in India,  Ophelia recreated one of our classrooms. She used some Gujarati teaching resources and of course wore a salwar kemeez, in order to share our work with her peers.  Thanks Ophelia.

Teacher Trainers Recruited

A warm welcome to our 8 new teacher trainers who have joined the team in India and are helping to train our 140 tribal teachers. Their work will ensure that all of our teachers are receiving high quality teacher training, once a week, at the Tejgadh academy.

Curriculum Development

Our Education Managers have completed a curriculum for Maths for K level and Level 1. They are currently working on compiling lesson plans so that each objective in this curriculum has an aligned lesson plan. When this piece of work is completed (End July 2011) a curriculum will be in place with lesson plans that cover a 2 year cycle.

Teacher Training Programme

Our Education Managers, Olivia and Ellie, welcomed the next 4O local teachers into our training programme. These teachers will work in pairs to staff the new schools operated by our partner Bhasha. Our Director of Operations and Education, together with the Founder of Bhasha have received confirmation that the Indira Gandhi National Open University will accredit our training into a Diploma and Degree in Tribal Education – a great result for our local teachers.
